<p>This detailed map covers an important mid Wales market town,  where Owain Glyndwr is said to have held his Parliament in 1404. The site of the Parliament House is shown in Maengwyn Street. Other features include the Workhouse,  Plas Machynlleth,  Graig-fach,  Llynlloedd,  stations for Cambrian and Corris Railways,  St Peter&#039;s church. The map extends about a mile east of the town,  including Park Common,  Dol-gau Woollen Factory,  Afon Dulas,  Felin-gerig Woollen Factory,  old copper levels,  Newlands. The introduction is in Welsh and English. A brief trade directory is also included.</p></description>

The main map covers the town centre and the area to the west,  stretching about a mile along the Severn valley to Pen y Banc,  Coed Caecrwn and a Woollen Mill. Features on this map include the town centre in detail,  including St Idloes church,  Upper Green,  Great Oak Street,  Short Bridge Street,  Long Bridge Street,  China Street,  Smithfield Street,  Cambrian Mill,  Glan-Clywedog Mill,  High Street,  Spring Mill; also coverage south to Lower Glandulas. On the reverse we include a section of adjacent map 48.01 which extends coverage further east and includes the railway station,  engine shed,  Lower Green,  Hafron Terrace,  Nant-Bryn-Du. Features include the town centre, shown in detail with individual houses, including Christ Church, Raven Bridge, Mount Street, High Street, Broad Street, Standard Quarry, Bron-y-Buckley Wood, Burgess Lands, Lower Llanerchydol etc. Note that the map is too early for the narrow gauge railway. On the reverse is about half of adjacent sheet 23.08. extending coverage further east, and this includes the Cambrian station, Smithfield cattle market, site of old camp, Mill Lane Foundry, Waterloo, Gungrog Hall, Lower Gungrog.&#039;</p></description>

The main map covers the heart of the town,  on the River Severn,  and coverage extends across the river to the village of Llanllwchaiarn. Features include the Shropshire Union Canal with Basin,  Cambrian Mill,  Kymric Mill,  Tannery,  Newtown Saw Mills,  Newtown Hall,  St Mary&#039;s church,  station,  Royal Welsh Warehouse,  Long Bridge,  Pen-y-Glodfa,  St Llwchaiarn&#039;s church Llanllwchaiarn (near NE corner),  Broad Street and the crowded little passageways off it,  Pont Bryn-fedw. On the reverse is a portion of sheet 43.03,  taking coverage further south to include more of the station area with Severn Valley Mill,  sawmills etc.</p></description>
