This Inch to the Mile map is split between Cornwall and Devon and covers an area from Bude Bay eastward to Peters Marland, and from Clovelly southward to Stratton. Sheet 307, covering the coastal strip, is also included. It is not possible to list the many hamlets, farmsteads and other topographical features shown on these maps. However, you might find it useful if we here list the majority of the principal villages and church parishes that are included on this map. Cornwall: Bude, Kilkhampton, Moorwinstow, Poughill, Stratton Devon: Abbots Bickington, Alwington, Bradford, Bradworthy, Buckland Brewer, Buckland Filleigh, Bulkworthy, Clovelly, Cookbury, Frithelstock, Hartland

Two maps for the price of one! With this map there are two versions of sheet 322 side by side, the revisions of 1894 and 1908. This means that you can easily compare the differences between the two, and in his introduction Dr Richard Oliver discusses some of the Ordnance Survey specifications across this period. Although there may seem to have been little development in this area, in fact the map produces dozens of tiny changes, to produce almost a'spot the difference' competition. The map covers the west Cornwall area around Boscastle and Tintagel, with coverage inland to Jacobstow. On the reverse is a detailed map of the tiny village of Trevalga. It is not possible to list the many hamlets, farmsteads and other topographical features shown on these maps. However, you might find it useful if we here list the majority of the principal villages and church parishes that are included on this map. It is a useful addition to the series, especially for those looking for complete coverage of Cornwall or, indeed, the country, though the publishers feel the original cartography makes it something of a curiosity. On the reverse is a large extract of Cornwall sheet 87.02, which covers much of Hugh Town in detail, coverage stretching from Garrison Hill eastward to Tolman Point and Old Town ; features include Buzza Hill, Trinity Houses, Custom House, lifeboat house, old pier etc. It is not possible to list the many hamlets, farmsteads and other topographical features shown on these maps.
This detailed map covers the village of Tintagel, previously called Trevena. In 1820 the village was described as having houses "laid out in a regular street, but they are in general detached buildings, very mean, and many of them falling into a state of decay". Trevena village was already referred to as'Tintagel Town' and as a "wild-looking place". The map covers this village, including the outlying hamlets of Treven and (at foot of map) Trewithen; St Materiana's church is outside the village. Other features include King Arthur's Castle Hotel, Tintagel Head, Dunderhole Point, Higher Penhallic Point, Long Grass Quarry, King Arthur's Castle, and The Island with ruins of St Juletta's chapel. The map is double-sided and on the reverse is much of adjacent sheet 10.09, which covers the coastal area of Tingael Haven, Barras Nose, Smith's Cliff, Willapark and The Sisters rocks. The connections with King Arthur and King Mark give Tintagel especial appeal, and the history of the place is explored in the introduction by Tom Greeves.

This Inch to the Mile map covers the fascinating area from Polperro to Plymouth, including a good stretch of the Cornish coast; it also goes inland as far north as Beer Alston, and south to Rame Head. Much the largest town is, of course, Plymouth, but the much smaller towns of Liskeard, Looe and Saltash are also shown. Of the villages Polperro is perhaps the best known and on the back is an extract from Cornwall Sheet 52.12; this shows Polperro in detail and will delight all who know this little Cornish harbour. A directory of Polperro is also included. It is not possible to list the many hamlets, farmsteads and other topographical features shown on these maps. However, you might find it useful if we here list the majority of the principal villages and church parishes that are included on this map.
