The route from Lake Constance via the Alps to Verona runs through Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy and is 600 km long. The route is one of the oldest long-distance hiking trails in Europe and follows routes that have always been used to cross the Alps. This map is in German, English, Italian and French A variety of landscapes await you: the foothills of the Alps, the mighty glaciers on the main ridge of the Alps, rock climbs and peaks, alpine pastures and lakes, mountain huts and villages, and finally Mediterranean flair in Verona. Route guidance via Oberstorf, Kemptener Hütte, the Pitztal, the Ötztaler Alps (Braunschweiger Hütte), the Timmelsjoch, Meran, Bolzano, the Brenta and through the Monti Lessini to the Arena di Verona. The route is split into about 30 recommended stages.

The Höhenweg, with a length of around 285 km, is the longest of the three Black Forest longitudinal routes, the "classic" starting in Pforzheim and finishing in Basel. You hike through wide coniferous forests and deep valleys, over the Hornisgrinde, past Lake Titisee, over the Feldberg (1495 m - the highest mountain in the German low mountain range), the Belchen and the Blauen. The Westweg connects the highest peaks of the Black Forest with each other - a total of 10 peaks over 1000m. There are only 12 villages along the way, the last section between Feldberg and Basel offers magnificent views. Suggested number of stages: 12 to 14 depending on fitness and time. Total metres in altitude: 10000, awarded the "Qualitätsweg Wanderbares Deutschland" seal of approval, marked with a red diamond.

The map covers the Eifelsteig hiking trail, a 313 km trail from Aachen to Trier via Monschau, Nettersheim, Mirbach, Gerolstein, Manderscheid and Bruch, passing through ancient woodlands, lakesides and valleys. The low mountain range between Aachen, Cologne, Koblenz and Trier belongs to the Rhenish slate mountains, the highest elevation is the Hohe Acht (747 m). It has a colourful variety of natural landscapes: volcanic cones and crater lakes (Maare) in the Volcanic Eifel, the beech and oak virgin forest in the Eifel National Park, the limestone hollows of the Limestone Eifel (between Bad Münstereifel and Prüm), the wine and juniper conservation area in the Ahr Mountains, the castle landscape and the broom splendour of the Eastern Eifel and High Eifel, the high moor landscape in the High Fens. The Eifel National Park was the first in North Rhine-Westphalia and stretches between the cities of Monschau, Nideggen and Schleiden, 10 reservoirs and a natural park landscape rich in forests and water. The 313 km long Eifelsteig between Aachen and Trier leads as a "premium hiking trail" across the Eifel. - Picturesque Eifel towns (Monschau, Bad Münstereifel, Blankenheim), castles and palaces (Schleiden, Eltz, Kühlseggen, Bitburg).

The hiking tail covered in this map is split into 23 stages and accompanies the Rhine on the right side of the Rhine from Bonn via Koblenz to Wiesbaden, has a length of 320 km and crosses the three federal states of North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Hesse. Narrow paths, rugged cliffs, vineyards, beautiful views of the Rhine valley and over the Rhine heights as well as 40 castles, fortresses and monasteries make the route a varied pleasure. From the starting point in Bonn, the route leads through the Siebengebirge mountains, the Lower Middle Rhine Valley, the Unesco World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley (Koblenz to Rüdesheim) to the Rheingau with a finish at Biebrich Castle in Wiesbaden. The Rheingau with the Riesling, the Eberbach monastery, the Loreley, the historical Limes border wall, the Drachenfels castle ruins, the Beethoven city of Bonn - each section shows character and numerous sights.

Hermannsweg and Eggeweg (The Hermannshohen) | Kompass hiking tour map 2504

The classic hiking trail over the ridge of the Teutoburg Forest is 156 km long. Start is in Rheine (Münsterland) and finish in Horn-Bad Meinberg on the Lippischen Velmerstot (441 m). The name reminds of the Battle of Hermann about 2000 years ago, when Hermann the Cheruscan as leader of the Germanic tribes won the battle against the Roman general Varus (also "Varus Battle"). There are two nature parks along the way: Terra Vita and the Eggegebirge/Südlicher Teutoburger Wald nature park; numerous mountain refuges; the mark is the black "H" on a white background. Famous sights along the way are the Hermann monument, the Dörenther cliffs with the squatting woman, the Sparrenburg or the Externsteine. You hike at an altitude between 100 and 400 m, a total of around 4500 m uphill and 4000 m downhill, and the Hermannsweg can be mastered in 8 stages.
