Do you have a map with magnetic backing? Do you need to mark where you've been or where you're planning to go? These are a little different from ordinary map marker magets because they're plain neodymium rod magnets. The small diameter makes it easy to put them on a very precise spot while the length makes it easy to lift them off to reposition then. They only come with the Nickel coating, but this can be coloured using permanent marker, nail polish, car spray paint etc. The strength of the magnets means they won't slip or slide down your map but will be held very securely exactly where you place it.  WARNING: Neodymium magnets are unsuitable for children under 8. All neodymium magnets are brittle. Do not allow these magnets to jump together or to an iron/steel surface - they will break, crack, chip or shatter.
