Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail

Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail

Until our move to Melksham some years ago, we were fortunate to live in the Forest of Dean for a number of years, and one of our favourite activities with our young children was the Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail.  This 4.5 mile trail is forever changing as the sculptures, mostly made with natural materials gradually degrade and new ones take their place.  Re-visiting the trail last year, we were delighted to find many old favourites still in position, such as the ‘Place’, always known in our family as The Giants Chair! and ‘Melissa’s Swing’, as well as newer sculptures such as ‘Echo’.  Maps of the trail can be purchased from the Forestry Commission.  It can also be found on OS Explorer Map OL14 Wye Valley & Forest of Dean.
