In addition there are ideas for things to do with children and a summary of exciting festivals and events in the city state. Further sections include: Travel Tips, Links, Blogs, Apps & more, and index. Asia for beginners? Sterile housing blocks with no character, and even no soul? There can be hardly another city in Southeast Asia so laden with cliches as Singapore, the metropolis of 5 million people. In fact there are only a few cities in the world that offer such variety. And anyone who gets really involved in the city can immerse themselves in a veritable melting pot of Asian cultures. With MARCO POLO Singapore you will discover a city state in which there is something for everybody. Why not take a stroll through Chinatown in the morning, be lured by the sounds and tastes of India at lunchtime, and in the evening chill out on Sentosa Beach? With this practical, pocket-sized guide you will experience a tropical island, where epochs and cultures merge. British, Malays, Indians and Chinese live together peacefully in Southeast Asia's world city. With everything from ultra-modern shopping malls to hawkers, winding paths under tropical trees and a cultural palette that is always exciting, Singapore offers the very best of Asia in a confined space. The MARCO POLO Insider Tips reveal where to find Singapore's oldest tailors, and where you can go and see Kumar, the city state's top drag queen. The 'Perfect Day' takes you on a tour through the city, during which you can experience its many different sides in condensed form: from breakfast with two 'K-cups' to detours into the Colonial District and Little India, and a look into the cooking pots of Chinatown. The 'Best Of' pages point out some experiences unique to Singapore, recommend things to do for free, and have tips for rainy days and where you can relax and unwind. Panels in each chapter suggest things to do if you re on a tight budget and where you might pick up some real bargains. Start your day with an excursion to the Peranakan Culture of Katong and finish it on the river under lanterns. The MARCO POLO walking tours take you from everyday life into the colonial era. Finally the Dos & Don'ts tell you why you should do without cigarettes and chewing gum and why it's best to plan you excursions for weekdays. MARCO POLO Singapore provides comprehensive coverage of all parts of the city. To help you find your way around there is a detailed Street Atlas, a useful map of the public transport system in the cover, plus a separate pull-out map.

Delivery

All items that are in stock will show a delivery timescale of 1-3 working days.  If your order consists solely of these items, then dispatch is within 1 working day of purchase with the exception of framed and customised items which may take up to 14 days.

If your order is a non-stock item, the delivery timescale on that item will show as 3-7 working days on the product details.  In these instances, dispatch is usually 3-5 working days with delivery in 5-7 working days.  If your item is delayed for any reason, we will update your order to provide an explanation of the delay, although it is not always possible to say how long the delay will be. The item will be kept on order for up to three months and supplied to you when it becomes available. After 3 months, we will cancel the order or the remainder of the order unless you ask us to keep it on back order for longer. Incomplete orders will be held until the remaining items come into stock, unless we anticipate a long delay. At our discretion, incomplete orders may be sent out as partial shipments if we anticipate that an item may take some time coming in to stock.

Cancellations - non personalised/bespoke items

The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 (formerly the Distance Selling Regulations) provide consumers with the right to a 'cooling-off' period to allow you to change your mind. Under these regulations, you have the right to cancel your order, without explanation, within 14 days of delivery (starting the day after you receive the goods) and to return the goods for a refund within a further 14 days (28 days in total). The Distance Selling Regulations do not apply to businesses nor to individuals who are trading or acting as a trader (buying goods to re-sell for profit) because no-one is the 'Consumer'. This means there is no 'cooling-off' period and the order cannot be cancelled once processed.

Cancellations - personalised/bespoke items

Where an order is placed for an item which is to be personalised or is bespoke, cancellation is not possible once production has started and these are expressly excluded from The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 (formerly the Distance Selling Regulations).
