The Ordnance Survey publish the most popular recreational maps of the UK with the Landranger Maps at 1:50 000 & the Explorer Maps at 1:25 000. For walkers & cyclists, the Explorer Maps are by far the best maps of the UK, & many of them have been recently up-dated. For the equivalent maps of Northern Ireland, you would need to choose from the Discover Map series at 1:50 000. The whole of the mainland UK is now available on CD in the Landranger Map format & can be downloaded to PDA's, laptop's etc., & used in conjunction with Global Positioning Systems.
