TTK Maps, a division of TTK Healthcare, is one of the largest and most popular producers of maps and map-based publications in India today. TTK was founded in 1928 by Tiruvellore Thattai Krishnamachariar, in Chennai, India. Krishnamachariar, affectionately known as "TTK", became a prominent Indian politician in the 1930's to 1950's, and is credited as being one of the modernisers of India's economy, modernisation from which India's current growth has stemmed. As a side line from his political life, TTK's businesses diversified, becoming very successful. TTK the company is now a very reputable firm in India, surprisingly handling production of many quality western products which are household brands in Britain, and worldwide.
