If walkers come to Cheshire expecting a wholly flat county, they are in for something of a surprise. There are plenty of easy, gently undulating and undemanding walks that take you across a typical Cheshire landscape and these are most enjoyable, invariably passing through some of the attractive villages and by some of the county's outstanding churches or country house. But you can also experience rough and challenging moorland hikes on the edge of the Peak District, plenty of attractive woodland walks along the sandstone ridge, or across parklands, or through the remnants of the medieval forests, a superb choice of peaceful canal walks and, on the Wirral, even coastal - or at least estuary - walking. Each book contains 28 walks graded in ascending order of difficulty, ranging from easy strolls to more demanding walks. Illustrated with colour mapping and photographs.
