Sample map This ROAD map of Pilion features precision geophysical background provided by the Hellenic Military Geographic Service, with contour lines at 20m intervals. The road network is accurately represented, including even the most insignificant secondary and blind unsurfaced roads, and the scenic routes are highlighted in green. The mountain’s major footpaths are also included on the map and a detailed description of a hiking route from Milies to Tsangarada and from there to Damouchari is contained in the accompanying booklet. Information for nature lovers is clearly marked (altitudes of peaks, footpaths, mountain refuges, gorges, caves, beaches, springs etc.), as are sites of interest. The reverse of the map includes information about the mountain in both English and Greek, and an in-depth description of the Kala Nera-Milies-Tsangarada-Damouchari hiking route. An alphabetical index and list of useful telephone numbers is also included, as is a large map of Volos.
