This highly detailed map at a 'Yard to the Mile' scale covers a central area of the City of London, including the Bank of England; this is shown in amazing detail, even including much of the interior layout, including Pay Hall, Bullion Court, '3 per Cent Dividend Office', etc. Coverage of the map is from Old Jewry eastward to Fenchurch Street station, and from Cannon Street northward to Wormwood Street and Devonshire Square. Major features include the northern part of Cannon Street station (ie Booking Offices etc), Clothworkers Hall, Ironmongers Hall, Leadenhall Street, Fenchurch Street, St Mary Axe, Friends Meeting House, St Katharine Cree church and several other City churches (around 25 are on the map); Gracechurch Street, Leadenhall Market, Royal Exchange, Salters Hall, Mansion House, Grocers Hall, Drapers Gardens, Stock Exchange, King William Street, Threadneedle Street, Cornhill, Lothbury, Throgmorton Street. On the reverse is a street directory entries for Cornhill, Threadneedle Street, Throgmorton Street and White Hart Court in 1859.
The map links up with sheets 7.56 Finsbury Square to the north, 7.65 St Paul's to the west, 7.67 Aldgate to the east, 7.76 Monument to the south.
