The Chamonix and Massif du Mont Blanc map is a 1:25 000 scale topographic map which is ideal for walking and skiing the Mont Blanc region of France and for crossing the alps. The map shows GR Tour du Mont Blanc route which is on the east side of the map shown in red with the refuges shown at intervals. Mont Blanc is in the bottom left hand side of the map with the Aiguille Du Midi and Chamonix to the north. The map clearly shows the glaciers, many of which have retreated in recent times. The map shows the smallest footpaths and the ski routes as well as forests, rivers, ski and chair lifts.
This IGN map is the equivalent of the UK Ordnance Survey Explorer maps and perfect for exploring France in detail. This map is a sinlge sided map, but the equivalent waterproof map below is double-sided thus reducing the bulk of a waterproof map.
